If you’re looking for a staircase chair lift cost, we have a range of chairlifts to suit any staircase. If you have a straight straight staircase, our lifts start at £990 and for a curved staircase it’s from £2950.
The average cost of a staircase chair lift usually lies somewhere between £1500 to £8000, depending on the model of stairlift you choose and your staircase layout.
Our lowest cost stairlifts are reconditioned stairlifts and you can reduce the cost quite considerably when buying a reconditioned model.
Our reconditioned stairlifts are very popular and they are tested rigorously by our team of engineers. Like our new stairlifts, every reconditioned stairlift comes with a full PLATINUM GUARANTEE. All parts, labour and call out charges are covered for 2 years so you can have total peace of mind.
With a reconditioned stairlift you can often save from 30-40% of the cost of a brand new stairlift.
Staircase Chair Lift Cost – How About A New Stairlift?
Our new stairlifts start at £1350 for a straight staircase and £3990 for a curved staircase. A new stairlift might be an option if your budget allows. New stairlifts will typically have a longer warrantee (usually 3 years).
Other benefits of a new stairlift is the parts will usually last longer and they are more easily repairable. You can also have more choice with a brand new stairlift on the various options available such as colours and optional extras.
Of course optional extras will add to the cost of a new stairlift, and if you have a longer staircase configuration, the cost for fitting and customisation of the rail will be a factor which determines the cost.
Will A Stairlift Fit Your Staircase?
If you’re considering a stairlift for your staircase, you might have concerns; particularly if you have a difficult or awkward staircase. Don’t worry, because with new, modern stairlifts there are design features and technological advances which makes even the most awkward staircases accessible.
So, if you need a stairlift for an awkward stairs, you’re in luck! We can suggest a few models which might be suitable. Such as the Thyssen Flow 2 which can pivot the chair to face down the stairs. This gives you much more legroom and the ability to travel on very narrow and winding staircases.
Take a look at the Flow 2 navigating this narrow staircase!
This model can navigate in tight spaces and is one of the most adaptable and accommodating stairlifts you can find! See Thyssen stairlifts for more details.
Other Cost Considerations
With a long and curved staircase you can expect a chairlift to be more expensive than with a shorter and straight staircase. Curved stairlifts are more costly because the rail configuration is more complicated, plus fitting is more difficult in most cases than a straight rail.
Curved stairlift chairs too are more complicated because they have to turn in a curve. A straight stairlift, on the other hand only moves in one plane (up and down a straight line). If you have a particularly awkward staircase, you might even need a rail to be ordered and specifically customised to your staircase, which adds to the cost.
If you’re adding any optional extras, this adds to the cost too. Certain stairlifts have optional extras such as powered swivel seat, powered folding mechanism, custom rail colour, and options of textiles and colour etc. See the Flow X stairlift optional extras here.
Summary
So, as you can see, a staircase chair lift cost varies according to a number of different criteria. But for a general overview, with a basic staircase layout with a straight staircase, you’re looking at between £1000 and £2000 for a reconditioned model. With a new stairlift, and/or with a more complicated staircase layout, it’s more towards the £2000-£4000 price bracket. As you add optional extras this will rise accordingly.
