A perch stair lift is a specialist stairlift for people who have trouble bending their knees. They can also be useful for very narrow staircases where the back to knee measurement is a problem.
The back to knee measurement can be the defining factor when it comes to awkward installations. We also specialise in stairlifts for narrow stairs – using chairs which face downwards to get around this problem.

Perch Stair Lift Versus Standard Stairlift
The perch stairlift is used in specific circumstances – when bending the knees is difficult. However, it is not always the best solution because it requires the user to be partially standing up while travelling on the stairs.
While this may work for some, it is not always ideal; especially if it’s likely the condition of the user will decline going forwards. A seated stairlift may be more suitable if this is the case.
