Are you looking for stairlifts for the elderly prices? In this post we will cover some of the basic pricing for our new and reconditioned stairlifts and include some examples of stairlifts we have already installed with their pricing.
Here’s a basic overview of our prices:

Stairlifts For Elderly Prices – Reconditioned Stairlifts
Reconditioned stairlifts, as you can see, are much cheaper than brand new lifts. We specialise in reconditioned stairlifts for a few reasons:
- We can offer stairlifts to more customers, helping them with their mobility needs at a better price
- We choose only the best stairlifts and apply our full 2 year warranty to them. This means standards are very high and you get a high quality lift, even when buying second hand.
- Many pre-used lifts have a lot of life left in them, especially when they are professionally refurbished and given a new lease of life. It’s a waste not to re-use them.
- Reconditioned stairlifts are not only a cheaper option if you’re on a budget, but there’s a saved cost to the environment too, saving waste and the resources and energy of creating a new product too.
Stairlifts For Elderly Prices – Curved Or Straight
To begin with if you have a straight staircase, you’ll likely spend a lot less than if it were a curved one. Straight stairlifts are much cheaper, depending on the configuration of your staircase, of course. Here’s a straight stairlift we installed a while ago with its pricing:

Here’s a very straight forward stairlift (no pun intended) – on a straight set of stairs! It’s a reconditioned Stannah 600 stairlift (right hand) with an auto-swivel assisted footplate. This stairlift was £1550. Straight stairlifts are generally faster to fit and cheaper than curved stairlifts. With a curved stairlift the rail manufacture takes longer because it needs more customisation than a straight rail. Brand new, this would be around the £2,450 mark.

This was a more complicated installation because the staircase was curved. We also had a bannister rail to contend with. This one was a Thyssen Flow 2a. It had a 180 degree mid flight “wrap” which you can see going round the corner (the rail). With a full auto swivel (fully programmable) and a small footplate for extra legroom. It also had the enclosed arms (for tighter fit). This one was £4250. (brand new around £6750).
Stairlift For Elderly Prices – More Examples
Here’s another straight stairlift installation we carried out. This installation was £1550 including a 2 year no exclusion warranty. This was a straight stairlift fitted to a curved stairs. See the installation of this one on our YouTube video. A Stannah 600 stairlift was used for this installation – professionally refurbished. Brand new this would have been around £2,450. Using a straight stairlift on a curved staircase isn’t always the best option. But for this client we we happy they were safe taking the top 2 stairs independently. A Curved And Narrow Staircase
Here’s a specialist stairlift we chose for a very awkward staircase. With this one, another stairlift company passed over the job to us because their stairlifts wouldn’t fit. That’s because this one has a very tricky doorway at the base of the stairs and a corridor which made it tricky to park a standard stairlift.

This installation was £4,650. It’s a Thyssen Flow 2a. It has a bottom internal “drop nose” bend (avoiding the door at the bottom). It had a top 180 degree landing parking wrap with run on. Fully programmable auto-swivel, small footplate. Enclosed arms to allow handrails use (a slimmer fit) and a brushless motor. Brand new this would be around (£6950.)

Stairlifts For Elderly Prices – What Affects The Cost?
So, with a standard stairlift on a straight stairs, you’re looking at the cheaper option and our stairlifts (reconditioned) start at £1,250 for a straight, reconditioned stairlift. When you need a curved stairlift, the price rises to accommodate more complexity – a more complex stairlift and a customised rail, created to the specifications of your staircase. Our curved stairlifts start from £2,950 (reconditioned) and £3,500 (new).
With extra turns and bends in the rail, such as for a parking spot at the base/top, or a twist in the middle, you can expect the price to increase for the extra complexity. Specialist stairlifts like the one above for narrow stairs are more expensive still, because they are specialist stairlifts with extra features and technology.
Certain people will also require a heavy duty stairlift, should their weight limit exceed the basic models. Heavy duty bariatric stairlifts are more complex and have sturdier motors and mechanical components and start from £2,950. We don’t do reconditioned heavy duty stairlifts for safety reasons.
