Looking for a reconditioned stair lift? Here at UK Stairlifts, we pride ourselves on our reconditioned stairlifts. Mobility in the home is freedom, and without it, it can feel like you’re trapped. We understand how important it is to be able to freely use your home and how our stairlifts can help you. Reconditioned stair lifts in particular as hugely important because they can give you a cost-effective alternative to buying brand-new. So for those on a budget, it makes a stairlift all the more affordable.
Our reconditioned stair lifts are bought especially for reconditioning, and we pride ourselves on our understanding of the stairlift industry. We’ve been doing this for over 20 years and know which stairlifts are the best. We choose only the best makes and models for reconditioning and once purchased, we give our pre-used stairlifts a thorough inspection, stripping them down and replacing worn parts and batteries.
Reconditioned Stair Lift – Professionally Refurbished
We test our stairlifts once they have been refurbished, making sure everything is working properly. Only when the lifts have passed our rigorous tests can they go out for installation. We give all our refurbished stairlifts a 2 year warranty, giving you complete peace of mind. Our reconditioned stairlifts will last and you’ve covered for call-outs, parts, labour and servicing for a full 2 years.
We have built a reputation on our outstanding customer service over the last 20 years. So you know you’re in good hands.
Reconditioned Stair Lift – Favoured Models
We choose pre-used stairlifts which we believe are the very best, knowing they will give our customers the best value and longevity. We use Stannah, Access BDD, Bruno and Platinum for most of our refurbished stairlifts.
For most staircase setups, a Stannah is the recommended make. Stannah make superb stairlifts and the build quality and technical specifications make them suitable for narrow staircases. The chair position is well placed back towards the rail. This gives you more room on the staircase, for difficult and awkward fittings than some models.
On a particularly narrow or difficult staircase on which a Stannah doesn’t fit, we will recommend a Flow X stairlift. The Flow X is a higher specification than a Stannah, so carries a larger price tag. We recommend these models when a Stannah is unsuitable. The Flow X has patented technology allowing it to be fitted on staircases as narrow as 61 cm in width.
Reconditioned Stair Lift – Savings & Benefits
With a reconditioned stairlift you can make savings of between 20%-40% depending on the make and model and your staircase setup. Another benefit of purchasing a reconditioned stair lift is the speed with which it can be installed. So if you’re looking for a stairlift urgently, a reconditioned stair lift can be the answer, not just for savings but for urgency.
With a brand-new stairlift there’s generally a longer waiting period while the lift and rail are manufactured. But often a pre-used recon stairlift is sitting in the warehouse waiting to be installed.
Environmentally too, a reconditioned stair lift is advantageous. Not only are you saving costs but you’re also re-using a second hand stairlift which has previously owned, saving the resources of a new product being manufactured and the potential waste of an existing working product going to waste.
Reconditioned Stair Lift – Straight Versus Curved
There are reconditioned straight stairlifts and reconditioned curved stairlifts. A straight stairlift is generally cheaper than a curved stairlift because they are simpler and quicker to install. Often straight rails can come in a kit, and are more easily measured for size with a straight staircase.
With curved rails, there’s more customisation involved to navigate stairs as they turn. Curved stairlifts have more complicated mechanics too, with the need to follow a curved rail, and turn around corners.
Our reconditioned straight stairlifts start at £1,250 and our curved at £2,950. As a comparison with new stairlifts, new prices start at £1,850 and £4,990 for straight and curved stairlifts respectively.
