If you’re looking for inexpensive stair lifts, we specialise in reconditioned stairlifts. A reconditioned stairlift is a high quality stairlift which has been professionally refurbished. Because it is a pre-used stairlift, it can save you up to 40% of the cost of buying brand new. Plus, with our reconditioned stairlifts you know you’re getting a premium lift at a discounted price.
We choose only the best makes and models for refurbishment. That’s because we know which models outlast the others. Fewer problems for you means fewer problems for us because all our reconditioned stairlifts are backed by our no-exclusion 2 year warranty.
Inexpensive Stair Lifts
Here’s a couple of examples of our stairlift installations – offering inexpensive stairlifts which are professionally refurbished. The installation (left) was £3,850. It’s a pre-used Stannah 260 which has a bottom 180 degree internal parking wrap, a 90 degree internal incline bend and a power swivel. The stairlift pictured right was £1550 – all prices include installation and full, no-exclusion 2 year warranty.

A “no-exclusion” warranty means all parts are covered including batteries. The only thing which might affect our warranty cover is user damage.
Inexpensive Stair Lifts – What Affects The Cost Of A Stairlift?
As you can see, a straight stairlift is typically less costly than a curved stairlift. But also reconditioned stairlifts can save you a hefty amount too. So if you have a reconditioned straight stairlift, you’re looking at the cheapest option. With a more customised rail, as with a curved stair case, this adds to the cost.
In the cart below you can see a general overview of our prices showing the difference in starting price for both straight and curved stairlifts as well as reconditioned versus brand new stair lifts.

More Complex Stairs – More Expensive Stairlifts
With a more complicated staircase, it can be more difficult to find an inexpensive stair lift because you may need a specialist stairlift if a standard model doesn’t fit. Here’s a stairlift we fitted to a staircase where another company passed it on to us. Their stairlift range simply couldn’t be fitted to this staircase because it was so awkward.
We specialise in reconditioned stairlifts but also in stairlifts for narrow or difficult stairs, too. So we rose to the challenge of this installation. Here’s the stairlift in all its glory – plus the “birds-eye” view. You can see just how narrow this staircase really is, plus with the awkward corridor and door at the bottom, this stairlift was the only solution.

This installation was £4,650. It has a bottom internal “drop nose” bend which allows it to park without obscuring the doorway or corridor. Brand new this would be around £6950. So even with the more expensive models, like this Thyssen Flow 2a, we still think these are inexpensive stair lifts compared to buying brand new.
A Basic Straight Stairlift
Most stairs are straight which means that if you have a straight staircase, you can benefit from the most inexpensive stairlifts. More complex stairlifts which can cope with curves, difficult corridors or doorways or even a heavier than average user, will push the price up accordingly.
Here’s another basic straight stairlift (reconditioned). This one is a reconditioned Stannah 600 and was £1,550 including installation and warranty. Brand new this would be around £2,495. By buying reconditioned you can save quite a bit on a stairlift. Remember too our reconditioned models come with a full 2 year warranty, covering you for labour, parts and call-outs.

Summary
A few things affect the cost of a stairlift and you can save money on a stairlift by buying a pre-used model which has been professionally refurbished. Other things affecting the price are whether you stairs are straight or curved and whether you need a specialist stairlift (for example if you have a very narrow staircase, or an awkward doorway at the top/bottom).
Heavy duty stairlifts too have a larger cost, because they can carry a much heavier weight. See our page stairlift weight limit for more information about this.
