The Stannah 260 curved stairlift is one of our “go-to” stairlifts for curved stairs. We like this model for our reconditioned stairlifts range for a number of reasons. Stannah’s stairlift position is well placed back on the rail, allowing for the maximum leg room, even on difficult fittings. The twin rail setup means the stairlift is levelled mechanically, not electronically like some models. While some like the single rail setup, a twin rail has a mechanical advantage and there’s less that can go wrong!
The Stannah is a sturdy design and with its powerful motor we find the Stannah’s often outlast some other brand newer models because of their higher quality components. That’s why we choose them for reconditioning – fewer problems, and a high value machine at a lower cost.

The Stannah’s are a well designed stairlift. Here you can see the 260 (on the left), and the 600 (on the right), showing the back to knee measurement. This is a crucial measurement for a stairlift because it determines whether it has room on the staircase. In the right hand photo, you can see just how slim the stairlift back is. This is why Stannah’s are so good on narrow stairs! They’ve certainly done their homework when it comes to chair design.

The Stannah 260’s are known for their reliability too. We choose these models specifically for that reason because we know many cheaper brands can have more faults as they age.
