If you have a very narrow set of stairs, or an awkward staircase, you’ll probably want to find a slim stair lift. In this post we will share some of the slimmest stairlifts on the market.
Slim Stairlift – The Handicare 1100
The Handicare 1100 fits the bill if you have a straight staircase; although it doesn’t cater for a curved staircase. The Handicare 1100 is an ultra slim and compact stairlift which sits close to the wall. This leaves loads of free space on the staircase for any other members of the household.
Or, if your staircase is particularly narrow, this stairlift might work. The Handicare 1100 folds away to a flat profile against the wall only protruding 12.6 inches.
Slim Stairlift – The Thyssen Flow 2
The Thyssen Flow 2 stairlift is one of the slimmest stairlifts on the market. It folds down to 24 inches and is suitable for both straight and curved staircases.
The Flow 2 also has a unique ability to navigate very narrow and awkward staircases. It does this by rotating the seat as it moves, allowing maximum legroom on even the narrowest of stairs.
Slim Stairlift – Perching/Standing Stairlifts
Another option if you have a slim staircase, or you need more room, is to purchase a standing stairlift. Standing stairlifts often take up less room than sitting stairlifts because they don’t have a fully sitting down position. As such they can fold flatter to the wall when not in use and they also take up less space even when in use.
Handicare offers the perch seat on their 2000 and new 4000 curved models and 1100 and 1000 straight models.
ThyssenKrupp Flow X
Thyssen Stairlifts, also known as Thyssen Krupp stairlifts offer some of the slimmest designs for both straight and curved stairlifts. We’ve already mentioned the Flow 2 stairlift , but there’s also a Flow X stairlift which has some great features and benefits. It’s another slim stair lift which can navigate very narrow staircases.
Like the Flow 2, the Thyssen Flow X can accommodate straight and curved staircases. It has a similar profile as the Thyssen Flow 2 and is loaded with features and optional extras too.
