Here at UKStairlifts we don’t offer “budget stairlifts”, instead we offer premium reconditioned models. Our reconditioned stairlifts give you a premium product at a budget cost – giving you the best of both worlds – both affordability and reliability.
Why we don’t specialise in budget stairlifts? We have found over our 20+ years in the stairlift industry that certain makes and models simply don’t last as well as others. So, although we do offer reconditioned stairlifts, at a reduced cost than a new one, we still only choose the best makes and models.

Budget Stairlifts Versus Premium Reconditioned
So, what’s the difference between a budget model and our reconditioned premium stairlifts? Budget stairlifts are good for some reasons. If you need a stairlift fast and have a limited budget, for example.
However, we have found they will often have more problems later on, as they age. With a premium model, such as Stannah, (which we use for our reconditioned stairlifts), the parts and build quality are of a higher standard. So, even with a reconditioned stairlift, we find they last longer and give us fewer problems.

This is why we can confidently apply our 2 year full warranty to our reconditioned stairlifts. We know, they are less likely to break down and give our customers problems, as other, cheaper budget models.
Our warranty covers your stairlift for free call-outs, parts and labour for a full 2 years. We want our stairlifts to last, problem free – which is why we choose the models which last!
Budget Stairlifts – Buy Cheap Buy Twice
You have probably heard the adage “buy cheap buy twice”. Well it definitely applies to stairlifts! We have had many experiences of replacing budget stairlifts for this very reason! So, while it might seem astute saving money on a stairlift with a budget model, it’s wise to read the small print! A budget stairlift is all well and good initially, but cheaper parts can mean more problems later.
Finding this out later on such an important piece of equipment can cause a lot of stress, and of course cost more too! Particularly after you have come to rely on it for your everyday mobility.

We recommend our reconditioned stairlifts as a cost-effective alternative which gives you the peace of mind of our 2 year warranty. Backed by our 20+ years in business and exemplary after-sales service.
What’s The Difference?
So, what’s the difference between a budget stairlift and a premium reconditioned stairlift? A budget stairlift is a brand new stairlift at a cheaper price. Budget stairlifts can often have the advantage of a faster fitting and a lower price. However, in our experience we have found certain budget lifts can cause more trouble later. They can break down more easily and sometimes even need to be replaced altogether.

We use premium makes of stairlift such as Stannah and Thyssen for our reconditioned range. They have a larger price when buying new because they have a better build quality and longer lasting parts. They often have stronger motors which will out-last cheaper makes and models, too.
By choosing these makes for our reconditioned stairlifts, we find they will outlast cheaper “budget” lifts. We also make sure when buying stairlifts for our reconditioned range to only get the best models. We choose the newest stairlifts for reconditioning and always give them brand new batteries and parts where needed. Only when we are satisfied do we give them our approval for installation.
All reconditioned stairlifts we provide come with a 2 year full no-exclusion warranty. This means you’re covered in case of any faults or break-downs. No exclusion means you’re fully covered for all parts and nothing is removed from the warranty. The only exemption is if the stairlift is damaged by the customer somehow.
Summary
While a budget stairlift can offer a fast mobility solution at a cheaper cost, the real cost can come later when things start going wrong! Cheaper lifts are fast and convenient in the first instance, but in our experience we have found premium reconditioned stairlifts offer better value over the longer term.
We don’t offer “budget” lifts for this reason, but our premium reconditioned stairlifts, we believe, are a better alternative. We choose the best makes and fully refurbish them, giving them new life. Our reconditioned stairlifts which have been professionally refurbished offers a high value mobility solution at a reduced cost.
Reconditioned stairlifts too can be installed much more quickly than brand new ones. This is often because they are already in the warehouse waiting to go out, and don’t need to be ordered from the manufacturers.
