We use only use the best stairlifts for reconditioning because we want our stairlifts to last! We also want to give our customers a hassle free experience.
Buying a stairlift is a big commitment and an important mobility solution which should give you peace of mind for years to come. A stairlift allows you or your loved one to remain independent in your own home. That’s a big deal, and we don’t take it lightly.
So choosing a stairlift is an important decision. We are here to help and we believe our stairlifts offer the best solution all round – quality and reliability at an affordable price.
Best Reconditioned Stairlifts
Our reconditioned stairlifts are our most popular items and for good reason. We only use the best stairlifts for reconditioning because we know that a high quality lift can outlast the others, even newer models! Our engineers thoroughly test and refurbish second hand stairlifts, making sure they are in optimal condition. We give them new parts where needed and always replace the batteries.
We apply a full, 2 year no-exclusion warranty to our reconditioned stairlifts which covers you for everything – parts, batteries, labour and call out charges.
What Are The Best Reconditioned Stairlifts in the UK – Brands We Use – Stannah

Our “go-to” choice for a reconditioned stairlift is Stannah. Stannah are a household name and that’s not by accident. They have superb build quality, higher powered motors than many other lifts, and this stands testimony to their durability.
In 20+ years in the stairlift business, we know which lifts are the best, and we use those models for reconditioned models for two very good reasons:
- They will out-last cheaper models, and are a high quality product
- Reconditioned stairlifts are much more affordable than buying new
When it comes to a necessary item such as a stairlift, it’s important that you can trust your stairlift not to let you down. It’s an important piece of equipment. Which is why why choose the best stairlifts when it comes to reconditioning. We simply won’t use cheaper models which we know will bring about more problems later!
What Are The Best Reconditioned Stairlifts in the UK – 600 & 260
The models of Stannah we use most frequently are the Stannah 600 and the Stannah 260, pictured below. These stairlifts are the best stairlifts (in our opinion) for reconditioned models because they offer long-term durability at a fraction of the cost of a brand new stairlift. If one of these models will fit in your home, we will recommend it! See more reconditioned stairlifts options here.

What Are The Best Reconditioned Stairlifts in the UK – Thyssen Krupp/Access BDD
Thyssen Krupp (now Access BDD) also offer a high quality machine which we use for our reconditioned stairlifts, when available. The Flow X and the Flow 2a are most suitable stairlifts when the Stannah models above do not fit in your home.
The Flow X series has a patented technology which makes it more suitable for difficult and narrow staircases where a standard stairlift cannot manoeuvre.
It has a downward facing ride position which allows more leg room on awkward stairs. Here’s two of our recent installations of the Flow X. See also stairlifts for awkward stairs for more information on the best options when there’s little available space on your stairs.

Again these machines have superb build quality and longevity, much like our other favourite stairlift the Stannah models. They are often the only possibility in a difficult stairway too, which makes them super useful when nothing else will fit.

Brand new models are always used with certain stairlifts such as the heavy duty stairlifts for safety reasons – for example our 30 stone stair lifts. Reconditioned models are not always available and are stock dependant.

So those are the best reconditioned stairlifts in our opinion and we have come to this conclusion over our 20 years in the industry and having dealt with thousands of customers over that time. Stannah overall offer the best quality and price when choosing reconditioned stairlifts. They are well known to have excellent build quality and to out-perform many other brands over the longer term, giving you fewer problems and breakdowns.
That’s why we choose the Stannah 600 and the Stannh 260 in many of our installations. Where a Stannah won’t fit, due to a narrow or difficult stairway, we will use the Thyssen Krupp Flow X or Flow 2a models. These are also known for their reliability and superb agility when it comes to awkward setups.
