A recent client of ours asked whether we could install a 3 step chair lift for this small flight. Of course we said yes! With this kind of installation, we will tend to recommend a reconditioned stairlift to keep the cost down.
Our reconditioned stairlifts are fully approved by us after thorough testing and refurbishment. We offer a full 2 years warranty on our reconditioned stairlifts. This means you’re covered for parts, labour and call outs for a full 2 years from purchase.

3 Step Chair Lift – Considerations
With this particular installation we had to consider whether the door needed removing or re-hanging. As you can see in the picture, the door is a slight obstruction to the staircase top flight. This particular installation is still in progress.
However, I’ve created an AI image of what the stairlift might look like once completed. Obviously the rail is in the wrong place, and the AI also created a rail attached to the stairlift! But you can get a good idea here of what the finished product will look like! The door has been removed to clear space for parking of the stairlift.

3 Step Chair Lift – A Simple Installation
The 3 step chair lift is a simple installation so if you have a very small staircase such as this one, give us a call if you’re in need of a stairlift. You can reach us on 0800 046 3438 or visit our contact page and leave us a message.
For the one mentioned here, we are using a reconditioned Stannah 600 stairlift. Our reconditioned lifts are much cheaper than buying brand new. We always purchase the best quality stairlifts for refurbishing so you can be assured of their premium quality.
With a small step lift the main cost is the chair itself and installation. A short rail can mean you’re not paying as much though. Our reconditioned straight stairlifts start at £1,250 including installation and warranty. Extra features such as power swivel chair add more to the price.
3 Step Chair Lift – More Complex Stairs
With more complicated stairs, such as those with turns and bends in them, you might need a curved stairlift. Curved stairlifts are more expensive than straight ones. Our curved range of stairlifts starts at £2,950. Curved stairlifts are more costly because they need a customised rail which is purpose created for your specific staircase.
We also cater to awkward staircases which might be very narrow too. See our page on stairlifts for narrow stairs. We have even installed stairlifts on spiral staircases and in a recent case study we fitted a four-floor spiral stairlift on steel steps.

3 Step Chair Lift – Alternatives
If you have only 3 steps or very few steps to climb, you may consider getting a handrail in the first instance. See also our stairlift alternatives which may be helpful. A moving handrail might be an option too – mentioned in our stairlift alternatives post.
If your mobility is such that you really need a stairlift, give us a call on 0800 046 3438 and we can give you help and advice.
A stairlift can be the solution if you have considered other alternatives but are clear that it is the safest way to avoid any future mishaps which may lead to injury later on. If you want to see some of our installations you can on our YouTube channel here.
