Which stairlifts are the best value for money and/or have the best reputation? Here are UK Stairlifts we have looked at the in’s and out’s of stairlifts over the last 20 years. So we think we are well placed to suggest which stairlifts we feel offer the best value for money and longevity.
Our reconditioned stairlifts are particularly popular with our customers and we know the best makes and models for reconditioning too. It’s through experience of testing different makes and models where we’ve gained our knowledge.
Which Stairlifts? Makes And Models
Certain makes and models have simply floated to the top when it comes to reliability. So we use those stairlifts for reconditioning because they have the least amount of problems associated with them. It’s better for our customers and we get less call outs too when something does go wrong!
So here’s our favourites, for both new and reconditioned stairlifts.
Stannah
Stannah have built a strong brand name and it’s no coincidence that they are a household name when it comes to stairlifts. They’re British built and the build quality is second to none. They offer a perfect option if you’re considering a reconditioned stairlift because they are solidly built and offer superb value for money and reliability.
Access BDD / Thyssen Krupp
Access BDD is the new division of Thyssek Krupp manufacturing stairlifts including their Flow X and Flow 2 stairlifts. These lifts are super popular with customers and are highly recommended when it comes to difficult or narrow stairways.

Bruno
The Bruno stair lift is an American made stairlift which offers superb build quality and a super smooth ride. We often use Bruno stairlifts when we need a heavy duty stairlift.
It has a space saving design and is a compact stairlift which does a superb job. The heavy duty model offers an option for the heavier user and comes with a larger chair and stronger rail.
Platinum Ultimate
The Platinum Ultimate is another elegantly designed stairlift with some superb features and excellent build quality. Its single rail allows it to navigate tricky staircase setups and it also has a heavy duty option allowing use for those heavier than a standard stairlift can carry – up to 25 stone.
If you have a tricky staircase and need a bariatric stairlift, then the Platinum Ultimate might be the choice. It’s nimble enough to fit in a smaller staircase than some heavy weight stair lifts which can be too cumbersome.
