How much does a Stannah stairlift cost? Stairlift cost varies according to a number of things but most importantly is whether your stairs are straight or curved. Brand new straight Stannah stairlifts start at around £3,250, with curved stairlifts starting at around £6,350.
With added options such as powered footplate, auto-swivel mechanism and other optional extras such as seat cover colour, prices will increase.
As specialists in reconditioned stairlifts, our reconditioned Stannah range starts at £1,250 (straight) and £2,950 (curved). So as you can see, you can save quite a lot by buying a reconditioned stairlift.

Stannah Stairlift Cost – New Versus Reconditioned
Our reconditioned stairlifts are the most popular products we provide. That’s because we take pride in our work and make sure each model is thoroughly refurbished to a grade A standard.
With our reconditioned models, you know you’re getting a top quality machine at a discounted price. We choose Stannah stairlifts because we know their quality. The build quality is superb and chair position often means they are the best when it comes to difficult or awkward stairs too (see our stairlifts for narrow stairs page).

We choose only the models in top condition before we thoroughly refurbish them, changing any parts and giving them new batteries. We also apply a full no-exclusion warranty of 2 years to all our refurbished models. That means you’re covered for a full 2 years for call-outs, parts and labour.
With a new stairlift, you typically get a 3 year warranty and of course newer parts. Some people prefer to buy new when it comes to such an important piece of equipment. Buying new can mean you get more choice too: for example seat colour, and optional extras.
Stannah Stairlift Cost – What Affects Pricing?
The bottom line when it comes to Stannah Stairlift cost is whether your stairlift is straight or curved, what optional extras you choose, and the rail configuration. With a reconditioned stairlift you can save quite a large chunk too, as opposed to buying brand new.

With a curved stairlift, the rail must be specifically designed to fit your staircase, hence the price difference between straight and curved stairlifts.

Stannah Stairlift Cost – Real Pricing Examples
Here’s a few of our own installations of reconditioned Stannah stairlifts.

Here’s an installation which was £3,850 fully installed with 2 year warranty. It has a bottom 180 degree internal parking wrap, a 90 degree internal incline bend. It also has a flush landing finish & powered swivel. This is the Stannah 260 – curved stairlift. (Brand new this would be £6,000+).
The twists/bends in the rail also affect pricing, with more turns and particularly sharp angles adding more to the cost.

This one is a reconditioned Stannah 600 on a straight staircase. This installation was £1550 including a 2 year no exclusion warranty. See the installation of this one on our YouTube video. This one was actually a straight stairlift fitted to a curved staircase. (Brand new this would be around £3,000+).
Here’s another straight stairlift we installed. This was a reconditioned Stannah 600 right hand, auto-swivel with an assisted footplate. This stairlift was £1550. (Brand new this would be around £3,000+)
