Looking for stairlifts cost in the UK? If you’re interested in a stairlift, one of the first questions to ask is what does a stairlift cost? While costs can vary from one company to another, most prices will include stairlift installation as standard. All our stairlift prices include installation and a 2 year warrantee, which we provide on all our stairlifts. That includes reconditioned stairlifts too.
The average cost of a stairlift will range between £1500 to £8000, depending on your model and your staircase. Cheaper stairlifts can be found by opting for a reconditioned, or refurbished stairlift which is second hand. You’ll also find a straight stairlift is far cheaper than a curved one.
Here’s a quick overview of our pricing:
Reconditioned curved stairlifts from £2950
Reconditioned straight stairlifts from £990
New Straight stairlifts from £1350
New curved stairlifts from £3990
Heavy duty bariatric stairlifts from £2950
Stairlifts UK Cost – Curved Vs. Straight Stairlift Cost
These are for the basic models in each category. As you go up the scale of complexity for a stairlift, and added features and gismos, you can expect to pay more.
The same goes for stairlift rail complexity. As you can see, the curved stairlifts are more expensive than straight stairlifts. That’s for a couple of reasons. Firstly, a curved rail is more complex and requires more time for installing. It often also requires more customisation to the rail, in order to fit a specific staircase.

Secondly, a curved stairlift is more complicated because it must turn around corners. Whereas a straight stairlift only travels on a single plane – in a straight line.
Stairlift UK Cost – Customised Features & Options
Certain stairlifts such as heavy duty bariatric stairlifts, can carry a much larger weight. They are customised with a stronger rail and a larger seat. As such they are also more expensive and start at £2950 for a basic model (straight staircase).
Other stairlifts can be more expensive if they have special features. For example, the Flow X stairlift can sit folded against the staircase and folds down to only 38 cm in width. It can navigate staircases as narrow as 61cm wide. This is a great stairlift to choose if you have a narrow or awkward staircase to navigate, or if you have little room to store your stairlift when it’s not in use.
The cost of a Flow X starts at £5950. We also do reconditioned Flow X models which start at £4250.
The Flow 2 A, which is the predecessor to the Flow X, are reconditioned models, they don’t make new ones anymore. The reconditioned Flow 2 stairlift starts at £3850.
You can also opt for optional extras on brand new stairlifts which pushes up the price accordingly. Optional extra features on the Flow X model include features such as electric swivel seat, mobile phone connection, push button folding and choice of colours and fabrics. See the list of options available for the Flow X here.
