Stairlift Maintenance Services – Someone Else Fitted Our Stairlift, Can You Still Help?
We can offer you help and support whether you have bought your stairlift from us or not. Just have your make and model name or number handy and give us a call. We’ll help diagnose the difficulty and let you know whether we can help. Depending where you are situated in the UK, we might have an engineer nearby.
In some circumstances we might not be able to help, but this is usually with very old stairlift models where the parts are difficult to obtain. We might recommend an upgrade if your stairlift is very old. Have a look at our reconditioned stairlifts page.
Stairlift Maintenance Services – Easy Fixes
In certain cases you might be able to sort the problem yourself. Most problems are easily fixed and often pertain to the battery. If your stairlift isn’t plugged in at the mains, the battery will run down after a few trips. So this is an easy thing to check, first off.
If your stairlift isn’t placed in its charging position, it won’t be getting charge from the mains. Most stairlifts operate from a 12 volt battery housed in the base. This charges from the mains via contact with the rail charging points.
If your stairlift has been set to charge in a specific position, and it’s parked somewhere else on the rail, it won’t charge the battery when resting and the battery will run flat. So make sure the chair is placed in the charging position when not in use.
Check the charging contacts on the rail too. Over time the contact points which charge the battery can pick up grease and dust, stopping them from contacting properly. Give them a wipe if they’re not clean and remove any dirt.
If your stairlift remote isn’t calling your stairlift, it could be as simple as a new battery.
Check your stairlift is switched on both on the base unit itself and on the mains switch.

Our parts come under warranty which covers you for the part for 12 months from installation. Call our team for more information and to book a repair on 0800 046 3438.
12 Month & 2 Year Warrantees
All our stairlifts comes with a full 2 year warranty covering the parts, labour, and call-out charges.
Outside of this warranty period, or if you didn’t purchase a stairlift from us, you can pay for one-off servicing and repairs when you need us. This applies to both a brand-new stairlift and reconditioned stairlifts.
We also offer a 12 month warrantee on a rolling contract for any stairlift. Of course we’ll need to do a full prior service of the stairlift before we can offer this. This warrantee/breakdown cover includes unlimited call outs, parts and labour.
