Looking for stair glides for sale? Stair glides, or stairlifts, are mobility devices to help the old and disabled tackle the staircase in their home. So if you or a loved one are struggling on the stairs, you’re in the right place!
We have dealt in stair glides for over 20 years and specialise in both reconditioned stairlifts and stairlifts for narrow and difficult stairways.
Our reconditioned stairlifts are particularly popular with customers, saving them money while ensuring high quality. We use only the best quality stair lift brands for refurbishing and give them all a full 2 year warranty. So you can rest assured when you buy a reconditioned stairlift from us, you’re not skimping on quality, just saving yourself money on a stairlift.
Stair Glides For Sale – Some Popular Models
So, if you’re looking for stair glides for sale, here’s some of our popular models. If you have either a straight or curved staircase, we will often recommend a reconditioned Stannah stairlift. That’s because Stannah’s are a top quality make and they often out-last the competition, even when buying second hand! In the pictures below you can see a Stannah 260 on the left and a Stannah 600 on the right.

Stair Glides For Sale – More Difficult Staircases
For more difficult staircases we often recommend a more specialist stairlift, such as the Flow X which is more capable when it comes to very narrow staircases or awkward fittings.
Here’s a recent installation we did in Bath, Somerset, UK.

This one was an unusual shaped staircase and required a more flexible stairlift.

Stair Glides For Stairs – Heavy Weight Options
The Flow X (pictured above) is one of the best stairlifts for difficult fittings such as this one. However, with its weight limit of 19.6 stone, this can limit a fitting should the user be near to or over this weight limit.
When it comes to heavy weight stairlifts, we use a couple of models which we believe are the best depending on the staircase. We recommend the Bruno and the Platinum Ultimate when it comes to the heavier user. The Bruno has a heavier weight capacity of 30 stone and the Platinum is nimbler for narrower or tricky staircases. Here’s the two side by side:

With a larger chair this can present problems for narrow staircases, particularly with the Bruno (pictured right) model which has a much heavier and larger rail.
Stair Glides For Sale – Avoiding Tricky Doors
The Flow X stairlift (mentioned above) is also pretty clever at avoiding trick obstacles such as doorways and corridors. Here’s a couple of pictures showing the usefulness of the stairlift rail:

The “Drop nose” rail of the Flow X is useful when it comes to avoiding blocking a doorway or corridor. Here’s two examples of the rail being used to good effect. Certain other models will require more room at the base to install, so the stairlift can pivot and turn for easy entry/exit.
Here’s the Flow X installation from above (Bath, Somerset) showing the resting position of the stairlift at the top of the staircase. That’s a pretty sweet fit, even though we do say so ourselves!
