Our favoured models are the Stannah 600 (for straight staircases) and the Stannah 260 curved stairlift, pictured below. Both these models offer a superbly resilient stairlift – Stannah being known for their build quality and durability. Stannah have more powerful motors than many other models and they often out-last less durable brands, and have fewer problems.
When a Stannah won’t fit a staircase, we have another “go-to” stairlift up our sleeve, too; the Thyssen Flow X (now from Access BDD). The Flow X stairlift is a superb and very advanced model of stairlift. It offers much greater dexterity when it comes to navigating difficult and awkward staircases. This is because of it’s super slimline dimensions and also it’s patented technology. The ASL (Advanced Swivel and Levelling) tech on the Flow allows it to navigate around previously unassailable staircases.

Our refurbished Stannah’s offer the most affordable option, giving you a high quality machine which will last, at an affordable price. If a Stannah cannot be installed on your particular staircase, due to limiting factors such as doorways and corridors, our next “go-to” stairlift is the Thyssen Flow X stairlift. This stairlift is often the best stairlift option for narrow and difficult stairs.
The Flow X & Flow 2a
When available in stock, these models are a superb refurbished option; especially when your staircase is too narrow for other models. The Flow X and its predecessor the Flow 2a offer a nimble option which can navigate almost any staircase – however narrow or awkward.

Here’s another one of our installations we did in another property which had a very narrow staircase with a glass balustrade. This one was a brand new stairlift, but you can see just how narrow a staircase this is. On this one, there was also a cubby hole at the bottom of the stairs which we had to avoid blocking. This stairlift was the only option ultimately.
