The cheapest stair lift we offer is a reconditioned straight stairlift. Stairlift prices vary according to a few main criteria:
- Whether your stairs are straight or curved (straight stairlifts are cheaper)
- Whether you need a specialist stairlift – for very narrow stairs or a heavy weight stairlift.
- How many bends and floors you are covering with your stairlift
- Individual configuration of your stairlift rail
Our stairlifts start at £1,250 for a reconditioned straight stairlift. See our stairlift prices for more details. See also how to save money on a stairlift.
Cheapest Stair Lift
Our reconditioned stairlifts offer the best value if you’re on a budget. Reconditioned stairlifts start at £1,250 (straight) and £2,950 for a curved stairlift. With extra features and or greater customisation, you should expect the cost to rise, according to your staircase and what is required.
To give you an overview here are a few of our cheaper stairlift installations with their costs.

This one was £1,550 and it was a reconditioned Stannah 600. This was an unusual one in that it was a straight stairlift fitted to a curved staircase. Since straight stairlifts are the easiest in terms of fitting and manufacture, they are the cheapest. A straight rail can be used “off the shelf” unlike a curved stairlift rail which must be customised specifically to fit the staircase.
By comparison, here is a curved stairlift installation we carried out. This installation was £3,850 – a bottom 180 degree internal parking wrap with a 90 degree internal incline bend. Flush landing finish & powered swivel. This was a refurbished Stannah 260. Again, reconditioned stairlifts will give you a cheaper option, but with the curved version, there is more customisation. Hence the cost increases compared to a straight stairlift.

Cheapest Stair Lift And Stairlift Complexity
These two stairlifts shown above are typical prices for both straight and curved stairlifts. The curved one is slightly more than our lowest cost curved stairlift because the rail needed extra customisation. As you can see in the pictures above, there’s two bends. For a less complicated installation.

Here’s another of our installations – again a very simple fitting this one. For this staircase we used a Stannah 600 straight stairlift. This one was £1,550. We often choose Stannah’s for our reconditioned range because they are so reliable. We give all our reconditioned stairlifts a full 2 year warranty. They are all carefully chosen and thoroughly reconditioned to give them the longest possible life. Parts are replaced where necessary and they are all given brand new batteries.
Our 2 year full no-exclusion warranty means you’re covered for parts, labour and call out charges. So should anything go wrong, you’ve got full peace of mind.
Summary
Our stairlifts start from £1,250 for a reconditioned straight stairlift. Prices vary according to whether you need a straight or a curved stairlift. Our curved reconditioned stairlifts start from £2,950. Depending on the level of complexity of the staircase, and the customisation needed, the cost will vary. Have a look at our stairlift prices page for more detail.
Other factors to consider are whether you need a specialist stairlift (for very narrow stairs) or a heavy duty stairlift if you are over the weight capacity of a standard stairlift.
