A reconditioned stairlift can shave a large portion off your stairlift cost, but how much is a reconditioned stairlift? Buying a reconditioned stairlift can save you between 30% and 50%, depending on the model you choose and your staircase layout.
Our lowest cost reconditioned stairlifts start at £990 for a straight stairlift and £2950 for a curved staircase. As a comparison, our new stairlifts start at £1350 (straight) and £3990 (curved). So straight away you can see a saving of £360 and £1040, according to your staircase layout (straight or curved), on a basic stairlift model.
Straight stairlifts are more cost effective because they are simpler. They only need to travel in a single direction/plane (up or down). Whereas with a curved stairlift, the chair itself needs more complicated components to allow it to travel around corners. The rail too is more expensive with a curved stairlift. Often the rail must be customised to fit a specific staircase, which adds to the cost.
If you have a particularly large staircase layout, or multiple floors, this will add to the cost. This is especially true if you need a customised rail, which is more likely with a curved staircase.
How Much Does A Reconditioned Stairlift Cost?
The total cost of reconditioned stairlift fitting includes
- The cost of the stairlift
- Any special fittings required
- The time involved in installing the stairlift
When you get a final price for your stairlift, it will include the cost of the fully fitted stairlift with warrantee. We guarantee all our reconditioned stairlifts for a minimum of 2 years which means all parts, labour and service is covered for this time. So if there’s any issues we won’t charge to put it right.
Certain models of stairlifts are more costly than others. So depending on your choice of stairlift, you might pay more.
Stairlift Options
Certain stairlifts have more features and optional extras than others. When buying new, you can choose more optional extras. With a reconditioned model there may be less choice. Your choice of stairlift model will often come down to your main requirements and needs, rather than specific colours and textiles.
Depending on your staircase, you might need to choose a particular model which is more suitable if you have a narrow staircase, for example. This model, for example, is particularly suitable for a narrow staircase because of its functionality.
The Thyssen Flow 2 stairlift is particularly nimble and the seat can pivot while navigating corners and handrails. It also folds up against the wall to make it more space saving when not in use.
