Looking for a concealed modern stairlift? You may see concealed and “hidden” stairlifts in public buildings where the stairlift mechanism is hidden under the stairs themselves.
These ingenious contraptions are super expensive though, and usually that’s why you don’t see them in private homes. Here’s an AI generated image we created to show what some of them look like.

Here’s a video showing a hidden stairlift in London which is concealed under the stairs. This one is super slick and completely hidden underneath the actual staircase.
Concealed Modern Stairlifts – Home Stairlift Solutions
If you’re looking for a stairlift for your home, a hidden stairlifts such as this isn’t practical for most homes. Not only would it cost an arm and a leg, but you would also need to dig into the basement to install it! Modern stairlifts however do come with certain features which makes them much more subtle in your home than a traditional stairlift used to look.
Take a look at this quick comparison which shows just how stairlifts have changed over the years. On the left you can see the tradition stairlift chair – outward facing and really rather large and imposing. On the right you can see a modern stairlift tucked away in the landing bannister recess.

Here’s another picture of a modern stairlift which is as concealed as a home stairlift gets. While the stairlift isn’t completely hidden as in the Knightsbridge stairlift in London, it has a very sleek and subtle look which blends effortlessly into your home.

Folding Modern Stairlifts
The models pictured above are the Flow X stairlift and are generally considered to be the most suitable stairlifts for narrow and difficult stairs. Not only are they super subtle and blend in seamlessly to your decor, they are also incredibly agile. These stairlifts are perfect if you have a narrow, curved staircase where no other stairlift will fit.
We have installed a number of these little marvels on difficult, narrow and awkward stairs.

While these stairlifts aren’t completely completely hidden from sight, they are much less obtrusive than some other models which can block other household users from using the stairs, corridors or surrounding doorways.
