The Thyssenkrupp Flow 2 stairlift is a superb stairlift especially when it comes to a narrow and awkward staircase. They are fitted with an advanced technology which allows them to pivot and swivel simultaneously. What this means is that they can be fitted to staircases which might otherwise be impossible to fit for. Here’s a flow 2 stairlift on a narrow, curved staircase.

Some stairlifts would require more space at the base of the stairs to allow for the stairlift to rotate, for easy exit/entry. However, in this particular installation the door at the base of the stairs prevented certain models from being installed.
Equally, there was little space at the top of the stairs for manoeuvre of certain stairlifts too, because of the doorway. With the Flow 2 stairlift from Thyssenkrupp, we could install the stairlift and avoid both doorways.

Thyssenkrupp Flow 2 Stairlift – No Longer In Production
The Thyssenkrupp Flow 2 stairlift is no longer in production and has been superseded by the Flow X model. Thyssenkrupp now has a subsidiary company known as Access BDD which is now in charge of their stairlift products.
Although the Flow 2 is no longer in production, they are sometimes available as reconditioned stairlifts (when in stock). Speak to our team on 0800 046 3438 to learn more and find out what’s available for your particular stairs.
We find the Flow 2 and the Flow X stairlifts are the best for solving complex problems and when it comes to stairlifts for very narrow/awkward stairs.
Thyssenkrupp Flow 2 Stairlift – ASL Tech
The ASL technology in the Flow 2 stairlift is what makes it so unique in terms of handling awkward staircases. ASL (Advanced Swivel and Levelling) is a patented technology unique to the Thyssen Krupp stairlift range. It allows them to travel up and down the staircase while pivoting to avoid obstacles such as the newel post, bannister rail and wall.
Most stairlifts can’t do what the Flow 2 and Flow X stairlifts can do. In addition to this tech, they also have a clever rail system which allows stairlifts to be placed close to doorways and corridors without obstructing passageways.
