Are you facing some Stannah stairlifts problems? We’ve been in the stairlift business for over 20 years and have had our fair share of stairlift problems. In this post we will share some of the most common Stannah Stairlifts problems and the quickest solutions to get your stairlift operational again.
The most often cited problem with a Stannah stairlift relates to the power/battery. So before you go any further, check that your lift is switched on at the base unit and at the mains. It sounds simple but you’d be surprised how common this problem crops up!
If your stairlift is beeping, often this means it’s not switched on! With the Stannah stairlift you’ll find the switch at the front or side, under the seat. Check also the key is in the correct position, as this can also lock the stairlift and stop it from functioning. There’s also a switch on the arm. Make sure both are in the “on” position. Here’s the Stannah 260 showing both switches and the locking key. All three should be in the on position.
Stannah Stairlifts Problems – Fault Codes
Fault Code 2 / Beeping
We have created a separate article for Stannah stairlift faults but will include the main ones here too. One of the most common faults is that of beeping when not in use. This means the battery has either run low, is flat, or is not charging properly.
Fault Code 3 – Safety Edges activated
Stannah stairlifts are very safe and have a number of safety edges attached to the base which trigger when there’s an obstruction. If this fault crops up, lightly tap each safety edge to release the problem trigger and check for obstructions.
Fault Code 4 – Power key
This code means the power key is to blame for the problem. Check the key is inserted fully and in the correct position as this can stop your stairlift from working correctly.
