Looking for an electric stair lift? Here at UKStairlifts we specialise in the installation of electric stair lifts throughout the UK. Modern electric stair lifts are battery operated and connected to the mains electricity for charge.
This means during a power cut, your stairlift is still operational for several journeys using the battery. However, it needs to be plugged in during the day otherwise the battery will eventually drain and the stairlift will fail.
Looking For An Electric Stair Lift?
If you need a stairlift installation give us a call on 0800 046 3438 or visit our contact page. We can recommend a stairlift to suit your home and your budget. We provide both new and reconditioned stairlifts to our customers.
A reconditioned stairlift can save you money, even up to 50% of the cost of a brand new stairlift. Our reconditioned stairlifts all come with a full 2 year warranty. We choose only the best makes and models to refurbish and we make sure they are thoroughly stripped down, old parts replaced and with brand new batteries fitted.
Here’s a recent refurbished stairlift we fitted on a narrow staircase. You can read our case study on this one because the stairs were particularly narrow.

Electric Stair Lift – Main Factors
The first factor to consider when buying a stairlift is the staircase type. There’s two main types of stairs – straight and curved. With a straight staircase, it’s much easier (and cheaper) to install a stairlift because the rail and stairlift mechanism is simpler. It’s also easier to install a stairlift on a straight staircase. Have a look at one of our latest installations in time lapse format here:
This stairlift was a reconditioned Stannah 260 for a curved staircase. We can’t promise to install a stairlift at this speed, but we’re pretty quick! Checkout our other videos and subscribe to our YouTube channel for alerts on our latest installations.
