What does a chair lift for stairs cost? Chairlifts, or stairlifts as they are commonly known, are one of the most commonly purchased mobility aids for the home. The cost of a stairlift will vary according to your individual situation and type of staircase.
Initially you’ll need to determine whether you need a straight or a curved stairlift. Straight stairlifts, like the one pictured here are the cheapest, easiest to fit and most “straight” forward, excuse the pun! We offer reconditioned straight stairlifts from as little as £990, (depending on your fitting options). A brand new straight stairlift generally starts at a cost of £1350. Again, the exact cost will depend on your staircase and fitting.
Chair Lift For Stairs Cost – UK Stairlifts
A curved stairlift is generally more expensive than a straight stairlift. The rail itself of a curved stairlift is more complex and more difficult to fit. If you have a particularly long staircase too, or a few flights, it’s going to be more expensive than a short, straight flight of stairs.
Our reconditioned curved stairlifts start from £2950 with new models starting at £3990.
Chair Lift For Stairs Cost – Customisation
The more customising your chair lift needs, the more you are likely to pay. A stairlift which comes straight out of a box, such as a modular stairlift, is easier to fit and cheaper – especially if there’s only a short flight of stairs to cover. More complicated fits including twists and turns are more costly. With multiple staircases, you’re adding to the cost again.
New stairlifts are of course more expensive than reconditioned stairlifts and you can expect to save from a few hundred to a few thousand pounds when buying a reconditioned unit over a brand new one.
New stairlifts of course give you more option of customisation, such as colour and features of course. A new stairlift will also give you a longer warrantee – although our reconditioned stairlifts all come with our PLATINUM GUARANTEE. All parts, labour and call out charges are covered for 2 years so you can have total peace of mind.
It’s also worth knowing that most stairlifts carry a weight limit of 25 stone (136–158 kg). If you’re going to need to carry a heavier weight you’ll need a heavy duty stairlift which can carry larger loads: up to 31 stone (196 kg). Heavy duty stairlifts start from £2350.
Stairlift Cost
The best way to determine your stairlift cost is to get an assessment of your staircase and decide whether to choose a new stairlift or a reconditioned stairlift. If you have any particular requirements make sure you mention them, such as specific colour (if buying new), and weight of the user. We’ll give you a quote which meets your needs and budget.
Our most popular models are our reconditioned stairlifts because they offer quality and value. We offer a 2 year warrantee on all of our reconditioned units so you have total piece of mind when you buy from us!
