Thyssen stairlifts are some of the most popular and their ergonomic design and features make them suitable for even the narrowest of staircases. Theoretically it is possible to install Thyssen stairlifts onto a set of stairs as narrow as 61cm (24 inches).
How is this possible? Thyssen stairlifts allow the chair to rotate while elevating, allowing greater leg room by allowing you to ascend backwards with your legs facing downstairs.
Many stairlift models have an inward facing foot rest which doesn’t allow for such dexterity. But with Thyssen models you can face down the stairs as you ascend, allowing for greater leg room.
This is especially useful if you have a narrow staircase and are concerned your home isn’t suitable for stairlift installation.
