Here are UK Stairlifts we specialise in second hand stairlifts for sale and installation. In fact, we pride ourselves on our choice of high quality second hand stairlifts for reconditioning.
Our team meticulously chooses only the highest quality second hand chairs to recondition. We don’t buy the models we feel are inferior and stick only to the highest quality stairlifts which offer the best value and longevity.
Once chosen, our stairlifts are stripped down, cleaned and rebuilt to the highest standards in our factory. They are tested thoroughly before they are allowed to be installed by an engineer.

Second Hand Stairlifts For Sale – Environmental Issues
Of course many customers prefer buying a second hand or reconditioned stairlift because it offers huge savings. But some also prefer to use a second hand model because of the environmental benefits of reusing equipment which would otherwise end up in landfill.
Buying second hand means you’re saving the impact of disposal and the necessary resources to manufacture a brand new stairlift as well.
If you’re considering a reconditioned stairlift, don’t doubt the high quality we offer of our reconditioned stairlifts here at UK Stairlifts.
Before Buying A Second Hand Stairlift
Before you buy a second hand/reconditioned stairlift it’s important you do some research and choose the right one for your home. The main consideration besides whether to buy new or second hand is the type of staircase you have. A straight stairlift, for example, will be much easier to fit than a curved stairlift.
Curved stairlifts tend to cost more due to the greater difficulty in installing the rail and the rail cost and design. If your staircase is relatively simple, it’s much easier to choose an “off the rack stairlift”. If you have a winding staircase, with more twists and turns, you’re going to need more customisation to your stairlift.
Make sure too that you know the weight of the person who will be using the lift. A default stairlift can generally carry someone who weights up to 21–25 stone (136–158 kg). For heavier lifts, you will need to get a heavy duty stairlift which carries a greater load. A heavy duty stairlift will carry up to 29 stones (190 kilos).
Customer Support
It’s also worth making sure you use a company who offers exemplary customer support. Here at UK Stairlifts we think you need to have confidence in your stairlift and the support to know we are here if you need us. That’s why we offer our guarantee of 2 years with every reconditioned stairlift and follow up with our customers to make sure they are happy.
